Another small update + developer sneak peak of the next major update!
Despite everything, I still haven't abandoned this game. In fact, quite the contrary!
This update doesn't have anything notable except for one thing:
The game is no longer frame rate dependent, which basically means that no matter how bad your computer is, the game will act mostly the same instead of slowing down.
That's mostly what I wanted to say about this update, but we can agree that this is not very interesting. So why don't I talk about something else instead like the next major update.
Developer Preview of The Next Update:
The next major update is going to be very different than previous updates, as the current plan for this update is to be a complete overhaul of the entire game, change it from an endless game to a game with proper levels (and an endless mode as side content ).
Now let me show what I've being working on:
Turret Selecting! Instead of having all turrets available at once, you will instead have to select 6 turrets or less before beginning the game. The lack of any background for the selector isn't intentional at all.
Range Preview! I'm not sure why I didn't add this before...
Oh, about that brown turret from earlier :
Mini Turret! This funky little turret cannot move, but you can, however, rotate the turret so it can shoot in another direction. It is also the weakest turret in the game, having a quarter of the health as other turrets.
Rocket Enemy! This enemy gains incredible speed in short bursts. It's currently the fastest enemy in the game. You can also extinguish its rockets using the Snow Turret and can ignite it back using the Flame Turret (Also the current design is obviously a placeholder).
And finally:
New maps. This aren't the only maps that are gonna show up in the final update. Also the reason the new maps are so simple is because these are the beginner maps. Also, also, the second new map is currently a WIP.
That's everything for now. There is also a few other changes you can see in these screenshots, but they're not interesting enough to talk about.
The reason there isn't a lot to show despite the last update being released in November of last year is because I'm currently working on multiple other projects, so I didn't work on Reeturrets for quite a while. Based on how things are going, the next update will probably come out in 2026, but its not like anyone cares except me.
